Abstract
It is a great honor to write these words for the special issue of the CIESAS Outreach Magazine. Before I go any further, I would like to acknowledge that the land I am on today belongs to the Ngunnawal nation and I want to express my respect to its elders, past, present and emerging, and more broadly to the indigenous people of Australia, Mexico and other countries of the colonized worlds.
