    Abstract

Thank you, reviewers. You make possible the main pillar of the academic publishing system, namely rigorous, anonymous peer review, leading to better informed editorial decisions and therefore higher quality publications. We are grateful that you are prepared to give your time and expertise without pay and for little direct professional reward. We appreciate that you do so for the benefit of advancing public knowledge and understanding, and, in the case of Climate Policy, to contribute to addressing one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. During the first half of this year, to 30 June 2020, Climate Policy received 322 reviews from 268 reviewers. The number of approaches made to potential referees was more than triple that. Over time, it has become increasingly difficult to find suitable reviewers for each manuscript, a problem experienced across the journal publishing world. As Editors, we really appreciate your willingness to devote your time and effort to Climate Policy.
