Abstract
Indonesia remains one of the world’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases, ranking eighth in the world in 2019. Indonesia has a pivotal role to play in addressing climate change. In 2016, it set Paris Agreement targets to reduce emissions by 29 per cent (unconditional) and 41 per cent (conditional) below business-as-usual levels by 2030 and has developed strategies to reduce its land and forest-based emissions.
