    Abstract

The introduction offers reflections on both the motivation for and the aims of the handbook. First, we outline various views on public criminology, critiques of those views, and how this anthology responds to these critiques. We also discuss the aims of the handbook, including expanding the scope of public criminological engagement, and the challenges of pursuing that project. Finally, we outline the layout of the collection and discuss the goals of each part.
