    Abstract

We wish to thank the contributors and reviewers of this handbook for their creativity and diligence. While not exhaustive, this handbook encompasses a wide range of qualitative methodologies including the opportunities and challenges that come with these approaches. The handbook comprises of three interconnected sections: Foundations, innovations and applications. A common theme running through the three sections is the importance of context in qualitative research. The research context often determines the choice of a certain qualitative methodology. Changes to research context during data collection requires researchers to be reflexive in their choice of methodology. Overall, our aim in compiling this work is to highlight the ways in which qualitative research can assist in knowledge creation in the dynamic workplace setting. We hope the handbook inspires current and future qualitative researchers to investigate the workplace setting in innovative ways.
