Abstract
Jane Alison (*1961) was born in Canberra and raised in Washington DC before studying classics at Princeton and Brown universities. Alison worked as an illustrator and editor before turning to writing. She has published essays and short fiction in the New York Times, Washington Post, Triquarterly and Seed, among others, as well as fiction, life-writing and, more recently, translations from Ovid’s Metamorphoses and Amores. Alison currently teaches creative writing at the University of Virginia.
