Abstract

This selection from the proceedings of the twentieth Congress of the International Comparative Literature Association offers directions to think the grounds involved in comparatist literary criticism and the relations between comparatism in literature and in the other domains of knowledge and culture. This article focuses on the study of the representation of the circus and its universe in contemporary romantic literature.
