Abstract
This study examines the factors influencing decision making in the context of adaptation. It describes how some individuals in one rural community in Victoria, Australia, are pro-actively adapting to actual or expected impacts of climate change and in some cases, making much more than just incremental changes: they have started more transformational changes. Understanding decision-making processes underlying their adaptation and relaying lessons learnt is invaluable for ensuring the success of future adaptation strategies.
