    Abstract

    Abstract This is a children novel that recounts the story of a little llama brought to an Australian farm. An Australian farmer who plans to use llamas to guard his sheep flock from foxes and dingos buys the little llamas parents in South America and brings them to his farm. The novel describes the journey, quarantine and settling of the new comers to the Australian environment. A forest fire helps the integration of the family with the other farm animals. Context of the publication The novel uses research on llama farms in NSW and also research on the Spanish-speaking community in Australia to build the parameters of the story.
