Abstract
This article was developed out my PhD, and published in the online journal of the Jeu de Paume gallery, Paris - an internationally regarded leader in the exhibition of photography and film. The article was published to coincide with a major solo exhibition of artist Omer Fast at the Jeu de Paume. It represents original research, published publicly for the first time in this online venue.
