Abstract
Suppose that a rational function Z(s) is defined by a Laurent series, the coefficients of which are known. Several criteria are given in terms of the coefficients (the Markov parameters of Z(s)) to ensure the ReZ(jw) > 0 for all real w. The criteria are of two types - involving a Rouch table with first two rows initialized using the coefficients and Rezout matrices with entries which are the integral expressions in the coefficients.
