    Abstract

Recent progress in design and fabrication of dielectric metasurfaces has delivered a variety of different structures that can interact selectively with circularly polarized light waves. Here we discuss how the point symmetry determines and limits the transformations of chiral light with metasurfaces, and formulate the four distinct types of such transformations. Chiral metasurfaces made of low-loss dielectric materials are especially attractive as constituents of chiral Fabry-Perot type metacavities. We discuss different realizations of chiral metacavities for generation and detection of chiral light as well as for chiral polaritonics.
