    Abstract

This paper describes several advances in the designs of the tunable metamaterials for terahertz applications. It presents two examples of the metamaterial designs: one is liquid, where the tunability is achieved by rotating the elements; and another is solid, where the tunability is achieved via parallel displacement of the components.
