    Abstract

Synthetic routes to a range of thioaroyl complexes of tungsten and molybdenum were reported. The synthesis precludes hyperconjugation into the metallathiirene system which reduces the stability but significantly enhances the reactivity and synthetic utility. Results showed that methylthiirane can be used as an effective sulfur transfer reagent too.
