Mid-Infrared Supercontinuum Generation in Germanium-on-Silicon Waveguides

    Abstract

    We report the first experimental supercontinuum generation (from 3.53 to 5.83 \mu m) in a pure germanium waveguide. By optimizing the design, we envision to generate a supercontinuum extending up to almost 10 \mu m.
