    Abstract

    This document compr¡ses the written submissions of Australian Lawyers for Human Rights (ALHR) to the Senate inquiry into the Provisions of the Migration Amendment (Detention Reform and Procedural Fairness) Bil 2010. The Bill aims to end offshore processing of asylum claims and the excision policy, to ensure that detention is only used as a last resort, to end indefinite and long {erm detention, and to introduce a system of judicial review of detention beyond 30 days.
