    Abstract

    This introductory chapter to the third of three volumes celebrating the career of Griffith University academic Cliff Goddard recaps the fundamentals of the Minimal English offshoot of the Natural Semantic Metalanguage approach, compares the two approaches (Sect. 1.2), then contextualizes and introduces the individual papers (Sect. 1.3).
