Abstract
A monolithic vertical junction cell design suitable for high-quality lifted-off silicon films is modelled and the factors influencing the efficiency are investigated. The structure has a high efficiency potential and could potentially be manufactured with a simple process. An interesting effect is described which leads to a higher short-circuit current in high injection than in low injection in certain circumstances, and the reason for the increase is explained.
