More than 150 Dutch companies established subsidiary operations in Australia

This surveys trends over time in the population of subsidiary firms from the Netherlands in Australia. Small numbers of Dutch firms started arriving in Australia since the 1860s. Their numbers increased during the 1950s and 1960s. Altogether 152 firms arrived, which acquired or created 444 subsidiary companies. The largest by far was long the Philips Electronics company. Other Dutch firms that still operate in Australia are Randstad, ABN-AMRO, Fugro, ING and AMEV.
