    Abstract

Angular momentum in protostellar disks can be transported radially by MHD turbulence induced by the magnetorotational instability (MRI); or vertically, via magnetocentrifugal outflows. We have studied these processes under realistic fluid conditions and explored the possibility that they operate at the same radial location. The results suggest that they may be unlikely to coexist in real disks.
