Abstract
Sally Walker made contact with twenty prominent Australian musicians and asked for their willingness to be involved in a bushfire benefit concert. The project was welcomed by Elaine Chia, CEO of City Recital Hall, Sydney. A committee was formed with Sally, Elaine and representatives of key Sydney Music organisations. A program was drawn beginning with duos and increasing in number of performers to a complete symphony orchestra and massed choir. The concert was broadcast live on ABC Classic FM. All personaell, on and back stage, worked on a voluntary basis. The concert raised $83,000. Two reviews (Limelight, CutCommon) attest to the critical acclaim and high artistic level.
