    Abstract

In 1921 the former German colonies and protectorates occupied by allied nations were transformed into Mandates of the League of Nations. Western Samoa was administered by New Zealand, and New Guinea by Australia as C-Mandates. In all Mandated Territories a significant number of Germans were removed in the early 1920s, creating distinct German diasporas.
