Negative absolute electron mobility, Joule cooling, and the second law

    Abstract

    A study was performed to demonstrate that entropy production has two components, the expected negative contribution due to "Joule cooling" and an additional positive part arising from "attachment heating". It was emphasized that the total entropy production is positive.
