    Abstract

[No official abstract] This essay builds on my previous work on skeuomorphism and technological change to examine the role of imitation and iteration in the circulation of NFT art and its social and economic impacts. It applies methods and interpretative frameworks drawn from digital archaeology, technology studies, social anthropology and culture studies to tease out the web of relations in which NFT art gains value.
