Abstract

A method is presented for obtaining ground-state and isomeric lifetimes from storage-ring data. The method published by Schmidt et al. is extended to the problems and solutions associated with applying their method to storage-ring data. These developed procedures are applied to real experimental data for 193Re, and a mean-lifetime value of 37+9-7 s is obtained. This is consistent with a previous measurement.
