Abstract

The chapter considers tenuous position of 'Country' and culture within Western Cultural heritage. Introducing Aboriginal and Western voices that seek to explain and translate 'Country' it discusses philosophical complexities of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 'heritage', 'ownership', language and living culture.
