Abstract
English translation of Polish poem by Wislawa Szymborska, with introductory essay (refereed). Abstract: �Widok z ziarnkiem piasku� forcefully defamiliarizes a reflexive human way of thinking. My translation seeks to convey the idiomatic quality of Szymborska�s voice without surrendering the surreal effect that her poem conjures.
