Abstract
Patients with cancer may develop oncological emergencies affecting a range of organ systems, due to either the progression of their disease, or as a complication of their treatment. Recognition of common oncological emergencies is important, in order to institute appropriate acute management and to involve the appropriate subspecialties early. This chapter will discuss a number of common oncological emergencies and cover presentation, investigations and management. Further detailed discussion may be found in the subspecialty chapters.
