    Abstract

The optical dephasing time in Eu3+:Y2SiO5 has been measured using optical Carr-Purcell-Meiboom-Gill (CPMG) experiments. The measured T2 increases significantly as the time spacing between pulses in the CPMG sequence is decreased. This is not in agreement with the optical Bloch equations (OBEs) which assumes a constant value of T2.
