Abstract

Bubbles packed in a cylindrical tube exhibit a variety of ordered arrangements. In revisiting them, we have found an unusual structure that includes internal bubbles that are not in contact with one another. We have examined the relative energy of this structure and rival structures which have a central chain of either Kelvin cells or pentagonal dodecahedra.
