Abstract
The reactions of [RuCl2(PPh3)3] with the thiacrown ethers 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane (9-S3) and 1,4,8,11-tetrathiacyclotetradecane (14-S4) provide the crystallographically characterised complexes [RuCl2(PPh3)(9-S3)] and cis-[RuCl(PPh3)(14-S4)]+. The thiocarbonyl containing salts [RuCl(CS) (PPh3)(9-S3)]ClO4 and [RuH(CS)(PPh3)(9-S3)]ClO4 are obtained by treatment of the complexes [RuCl2(OH2)(CS)(PPh3)2] and [RuClH(CS)(PPh3)3] with 9-S3.
