I am writing this as a lucky recipient of the Australia Council for the Arts, London studio, skills and arts residency program. Four visual artists are chosen each year to stay in London, each for a set threemonth period. It happens that the three months I resided in London coincided with the wettest UK summer on record and a few major events including the 2012 Olympics, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and significantly, the 20th anniversary year of the Australia Council for the Arts London residency program, commemorated through an exhibition and related publication, Time and Vision, both to be launched this October.
