Abstract

Some personal views of the panelists on important research directions in robustness analysis are compiled. This discussion focuses on linear time-invariant systems with uncertain parameters. It is concluded that new developments in robust stability analysis and H control theory indicate that this will be a fertile area for future research. Analysis results that tie in nicely into synthesis should be especially interesting and may become stepping stones for the robustness research in the 1990s.
