Abstract
Much of contemporary philosophy of mind is marked by a dissatisfaction with the standard options and hence with the search for alternatives. In this chapter I compare and contrast two such alternatives: panpsychism and (a position I will call) non-standard materialism. I will argue that non-standard materialism is preferable in several ways to panpsychism.
