Abstract
A free mapping tool was used to create this interactive map with details of over 100 public hearings of Australian federal parliamentary committees where one or more Indigenous languages were spoken (n=104, based on data up to 7 June 2024). The map displays metadata created using a bespoke corpus of public data from official Australian parliamentary records, compiled by Anneke Myers, PhD candidate. The map can be filtered by the following attributes:
- name of inquiry
- inquiry type (constitutional, legislative, policy or budget)
- name of committee
- committee oversight (Senate, House of Representatives or joint)
- hearing type (Canberra, regional, rural, remote)
- location of hearing
- year of hearing
- description of Indigenous language spoken
