    Abstract

Modest improvements in societal perceptions of ageist attitudes of health professionals were found across all age groups. However, there is still room for substantial progress. Strategies could include ongoing evaluation of training with focus on life-course perspective, placements in geriatric settings, and greater emphasis throughout in-service training on dignity, ageism, holistic care and human rights.
