Abstract
The author discusses the experiences of Balinese women, living in the Netherlands with non-Balinese husbands and their alternative femininities in social and cultural context. She explores interpersonal relationships between Balinese women and Dutch men and discusses practices of everyday life regarding Balinese and Dutch femininities. Balinese women in the Netherlands who adopting alternative models of Balinese femininity that are closer to western model of femininity.
