Abstract
It seems that hardly a week goes by without us hearing of another policy introduced to deter and deflect asylum seekers from our shores. To be a refugee advocate at the moment, as you know, is to weather what is a veritable rights-infringing policy tsunami. But weather it is what we must do. Nows not the time to get a case of compassion fatigue or to be overwhelmed at what seems like an impossible task of clawing back some humanity in the face of such dehumanizing and demonizing policies.
