    Abstract

Australian and international prevalence surveysconsistently report thata wide range of socioeconomic and demographic characteristics are associated with problem gambling. People with gambling problems also tend to bet on a wide range of products. However, few studies have attempted to disentangle whether specific types or combinations of socioeconomic factors might pose particularriskfor gambling problems. Similarly, the relative contribution of different types of gambling activities to gambling problems has also rarely been investigated.
