    Abstract

Our quantum memory uses a photon echo scheme that works with warm and cold atomic ensembles. We demonstrate light storage that is noiseless, highly efficient (up to 87%), allows spectral manipulation of the light while it is stored, allows storage of higher order spatial modes and allows non-linear phase shifts of stored light. We present results from both warm and cold atomic ensembles.
