Abstract
Two connections between classical Fisher information and quantum systems are presented. First, it is demonstrated that the classical Fisher information of a quantum observable is proportional to the difference between the quantum variance and the classical variance of the conjugate observable. Further, it is shown that the classical Fisher information is proportional to the rate of entropy increase of the observable when the quantum system is subjected to Gaussian diffusion.
