Abstract
We design and fabricate a LiNbO3 nonlinear photonic crystal with the randomized modulation of its second-order nonlinear coefficient. The modulation provides a set of continuously and uniformly distributed reciprocal lattice vectors which ensure a high efficiency of frequency conversion in a broad range of input wavelengths. Frequency doubling and tripling are experimentally demonstrated. The measured conversion efficiencies of ∼30% and 5% are comparable with those achieved in the periodic structure.
