Abstract
This is a commissioned essay to accompany CD recordings (a CD liner note) of largely rare and early works of Russian composer, Sergei Rachmaninoff. The life and music of Rachmaninoff is my speciality area. The recordings were published internationally by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, of whom Vladimir Ashkenazy (featured artist) was the then principal conductor.
