    Abstract

[Ru(CO)2(PPh3)3] reacts with [Me 3SiC≡CPPh3]-OTf in the presence of moist [ nBu4N]F to provide the C-H activation product [RuH(C≡CPPh3)(CO)2(PPh3)2]OTf spectroscopic and structural data for which are used to assess the previously proposed analogy between phosphonioacetylide and phosphaallenylidene (cf. isonitriles) bonding descriptions in an organometallic context.
