Abstract
Some aspects of the measurement and interpretation of excited-state gyromagnetic ratios are described, with an emphasis on the development of techniques for studying shortlived states in unstable nuclides and particularly a technique based on the measurement of perturbed γ-γ directional correlations from nuclei that have been aligned by heavy-ion induced reactions.
