Abstract
Time and again Hollywood revisits the magical world of sports. In sports anything can happen, and films make dreams come true - together they become an inspirational mix of fact and fiction that encourages audiences to believe in the American dream. The 2000s brought a veritable wave of films from the Walt Disney Company that dramatize true stories from the recent history of American sports. Released in a time of uncertainty and a strained political climate, a time that could be said to have suffered a crisis of confidence in the American Dream, these films invoked its strength and vitality.
