Rogue waves in presence of higher order effects

    Abstract

    The Hirota equation is a modified nonlinear Schrodinger equation that takes into account higher order dispersion and time-delay changes to the cubic nonlinearity. We present the two lowest order rational solutions that describe rogue waves.
