Abstract

We report the discovery of an unusual transient found while monitoring the galaxy cluster MOO-J1142 (z = 1.19) for type Ia supernovae. This transient (named SCP16L01) was discovered with cadenced observations from the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) using the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) instrument as part of the See Change program (HST GO: 13677, 14327; PI: Perlmutter).
