Abstract

Secretos Precarios is an independent documentary film, funded by the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies and the School of Literature, Language and Linguistics. It is a companion piece of and is inspired by Fabricio Tocco's book Precarious Secrets. A History of the Political Thriller in Latin America (University of Texas Press 2025). It is a non-traditional research output, that features conversations with film-makers and film critics about the political thriller genre. Secretos Precarios was filmed in Canberra, Buenos Aires and Montevideo.
