Abstract
The complexes [ML(η2-OCCR)(CO)(Tp)] [M = W, Mo; L = PMe2Ph, PPh3, P(OMe)3; R = C6H4Me-4; Tp = hydrotris(pyrazol-1-yl)borate] react with 'Woollins' reagent' [4(PPh)5/5Se8] to provide the first examples of selenoketenyl complexes [ML(η2-SeCCR)(CO)(Tp)], alkylation of which provides selenoalkyne complexes; the crystal structures of [W(η2-SeCCR)(CO)(PMe2Ph)(Tp)] and [W(η2-MeSeCCR)(CO)(PPh3)(Tp)]I are also reported.
